"King John, on the road to Newark Castle", Temporary Exhibition, Uk.
Art direction, illustrations and exhibition design in collaboration with Richard Pepper (3D Design) For Barker Langham.
The temporary exhibition was created to commemorate the 800th anniversary of the death of King John at the castle, where he died in in 1216.
This exhibition project was really challenging. The space was very small (23m2) and we were unable to touch the historic fabric and surrounding castle wall, so we designed a bespoke system that allowed us to display interpretation whilst ensuring the castle walls behind were still clearly visible. We had no collection with which to tell the story and a small budget, so we used illustration to tell King John story, which appealed to children and adults alike.
We presented this project at the Museum and Heritage show in May 2018.
