Nosy crow & National Trust: An Illustrated History of the Victorians
I had the pleasure of illustrating this new non-fiction book for Nosy Crow and the National Trust, aimed at children aged 6+. The book explores different aspects of everyday life in the 19th century, including homes, schools, travel, leisure, the lives of women, famous Victorians and the inventions that shaped the period.
I enjoyed bringing these different parts of Victorian life to life through the illustrations, from busy streets in some of the poorest areas to the first holidays at the seaside and everyday scenes at school. I wanted to make the past feel accessible and interesting to young readers, while filling the illustrations with small details for them to discover.
